Tackling gender-based harassment
In 2022, the STIB continued its actions to fight against gender-based harassment on its network. This is a theme which is close to its heart. Objective: make public transport a place where everyone feels welcome and secure, regardless of the place and time.
With this in mind, the STIB has implemented the commitments of the "Regional Plan against Violence against Women". With the CEMEA non-profit organisation as a partner, training sessions concerning the subject of harassment and sexism have been organised for the trainers of personnel who are in contact with passengers (driving, field and sales staff) as well as for the representatives of each of these professions.
The modules will be integrated into the basic training for the personnel involved in 2023, still with the help of CEMEA.
