Brussels citizens support metro line 3
In May 2022 the consultation commission gave a favourable opinion, subject to conditions, on the extension of the metro to Bordet. In that same period, the people of Brussels once again expressed their support for this new fast, sustainable and high-capacity link in a survey of 1,023 Brussels residents carried out by a consultancy firm.
The worksite between Albert and Gare du Nord continues to progress at the same time. This premetro section is being transformed so that the metro can run on it. The bulk of the work will take place at Albert station and in the Avenue de Stalingrad area, where the future Toots Thielemans station will be built.
Another important milestone was reached in October 2022, with the launch of public procurement for the construction of the tunnel to Bordet and the creation of seven new stations.
