More accessible surface stops
Since 2021, the STIB has been equipping its tram stops with a fusible edge, in order to fill the space between the vehicles and the platforms. Together with a raised platform, this system allows people in wheelchairs to board the tram independently.
In 2022, the STIB has fitted 10 new stops with these fusible edges. By the end of 2022, there were 59 stops fitted out and for 2023, the STIB plans on adapting another 48 additional stops.
