More fluid transport

In summer 2022, the Brussels Region implemented its first traffic grids for quiet districts. They were accompanied by measures to improve the flow of public transport. On Chaussée de Haecht trams now have a contraflow, on Rue Royale traffic is restricted to trams at the Parc stop. The redesign of this elevated stop allows easier and safer access for passengers when boarding and disembarking.

The inauguration of the new Suzan Daniel footbridge over the canal in October 2022 has made travel easier for bus lines 14 and 20 between Gare du Nord and Tour & Taxis, saving time for passengers. This is the first bridge over the canal to be entirely reserved for active mobility and public transport. The future tram line to Tour & Taxis is also planned to be built there.
