Guide dogs trained on the network
Guide dogs are an indispensable aid for visually impaired people. On the public transport network, they are the eyes of their masters, accordingly it is important that they are familiarised with this environment.
To this end, the STIB supports several official schools for the training of guide dogs on its network. Instructors and foster families are given tickets to travel free of charge on the Brussels public transport network in order to introduce the dogs. After a training period of about 2 years, the dogs are ready to guide their owners in complete safety.
